Minutes of AGM 2016

1. Chairman’s Report

As Chairman of the PCPG, I wish to record the outcome of our recent AGM:

A. The current office holders and committee members were confirmed in their respective appointments. (Details available on request.)

B. The accounts presented were unanimously approved. A vote of thanks was made to John Fisher, our most able treasurer. The healthy accounts reflect the unfailing commitment of our many volunteers and the continued support of our community and many others outside the village.

C. Our aim remains to establish a community shop and cafe in the centre of the village. All options for this will continue to be positively pursued. In this context, we are engaged in renting or buying any suitable properties; options arising from property developments in the village and the future of the Chequers public house.

D. Concerning the Bluebells Cafe, a vote of thanks was passed for the volunteers who have made this such an outstanding success and the exemplary support provided by our local church in providing temporary premises.

E. Support provided by NKDC, the Beer Festival and the Plunkett Foundation was gratefully acknowledged.

F. Local fund raising events will continue to form an integral part of our engagement with the community in addition to complementing our income. John Fisher’s role in this was warmly acknowledged.

G. In the longer term, fund raising will be a priority to acquire the sums inherent in purchasing or renting permanent premises.

H. Efforts to engage and coordinate with other groups in the village contributing such as ours to the community will be actively pursued.

I. Contributions to deserving causes within our community will continue to be assessed positively on their respective merits.

J. Clive Birks’ outstanding contribution as webmaster received well deserved praise.

Kim Winfield
